Poet, writer and performer Jenny Rockwell joined Sunaina for a kōrero the day after the release of her debut collection Vultures.
Vultures is a coming-of-age story told in a Southern Gothic mode, beginning with the poet’s former church community and moving towards defiant belonging and queer joy. Among the many beautiful turns of phrases, one of the most reportedly compelling features of the collection is Jenny’s commitment to sitting with complexity – including unsympathetic doctrines or people.
The book is published by underground press Dead Bird Books.
